‘Wag sabay-sabay! Palace advises employers to implement flexible work policy

By Prince Golez

Malacañang urged employers to adopt work-from-home arrangements and alternative work schemes due to limited transportation options starting Monday, June 1.

Despite the easing of quarantine measures in Metro Manila, public transport will only be allowed to resume operations at a limited capacity.

“Iniengganyo pa rin natin ang ating mga employers na magkaroon ng 50/50 scheme ‘no, kung saan 50% work in situs, 50% sila’y magtatrabaho sa bahay ‘no. Puwede rin silang magkaroon po ng rotating schedule para hindi limang araw ang pasok ng kanilang mga manggagawa,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during the Laging Handa Program aired over state-run PTV4.

Jeepneys, public utility buses, modern public utility vehicles, and UV Express are still prohibited from plying the capital region, which is scheduled to slide down to a more relaxed general community quarantine tomorrow.
