Concepcion pushes for lower alert level starting Nov. 15 to stabilize enterprises

By Prince Golez

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion on Monday asked the government’s Covid-19 task force to place Metro Manila under Alert Level 2 on November 15 to improve sustainability in business.

“I believe by November 15, there is no way but to move towards Alert Level 2. It’s very clear that the infection levels have gone down and the number of vaccinated in NCR is already at 85 percent fully vaccinated,” Concepcion said in an interview with CNN Philippines’ The Source.

The Go Negosyo founder explained that about 40 percent of the year’s sales are in the fourth quarter.

“The fourth quarter is when most of the (micro, small, and medium enterprises) really will recover whatever they’ve lost. This whole year we have had a number of lockdowns and long lockdowns as well,” according to him.

“It is this quarter when Christmas season induces a lot of spending for Christmas gifts and greater mobility because people want to celebrate with loved ones so they go out and (go to) restaurants, spas, salons, to look good,” he furthered.

Metro Manila is under Alert Level 3 until November 15.
