President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the deployment of buses in some areas in Metro Manila to ferry stranded workers during the first day of implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ) in the region, Malacañang said.
In an interview on dzRH Monday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte directed the military to deploy their vehicles to help stranded people.
Under GCQ, public transport will be allowed to resume operations but at a limited capacity.
Jeepneys, public utility buses, modern public utility vehicles, and UV Express are still prohibited from plying the capital region.
