Oh. My. Gosh. Another passing so soon after that of a loved one. My deepest condolences to the Cojuangco family. Tita Gretchen, Manong Mark, Manang Kimi, Manang Tina, Manong Mike, Manang Lisa, and Charlie. And to all of his grandchildren. Condolences to all his other loved ones as well as to his business partners and friends. Tito Danding, from the 80s onwards, you have treated me with nothing but love and respect. You and your family welcomed me with open arms and loved me until the end. Thank you for treating me like a daughter. Thank you for giving me life-long sisters in Manang Tina and Manang Lisa. I will never forget you and your kindness towards me. May you rest in peace, Tito. I love you. #dandingcojuangco #eduardocojuangcojr #ripecj

As ANC’s programming returns to normal after the quarantine, I am happy to announce the continuation of Dayaw, the only show on television that faithfully documents indigenous knowledge systems, tangible and intangible heritage, culture and traditions. Starting June 18 (Thursday), please watch our episodes on built heritage. With the theme “Doon Po Sa Amin (Built Heritage in our Old Towns), “Dayaw” Season 8 will take viewers to heritage sites and old urban centers in the Philippines to show the community planning our ancestors did to create spaces for communities and their economic and cultural activities. Our first episode titled “Old Manila” recounts how our forefathers adapted to and survived the culture of the colonizers as I explain the Law of Indies. It is a plan enforced in all the colonies of Spain and was the template in building our oldest cities. “Dayaw” is a partnership between ANC and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. I conceptualized this show a few years ago and have supported it since its inception. Get to know more about our ancestors and learn from their ways through “Dayaw” Season 8 at 8:30 pm every Thursday on ANC and the ANC Facebook. For news, follow @ANCalerts on Facebook and Twitter or visit news.abs-cbn.com/anc online or via the ABS-CBN News App. Watch ANC on cable or via iWant.
