The distribution of the second tranche of the government’s cash aid under the Social Amelioration Program will continue even if the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act expires this month, according to Malacañang.
The expiration of the law that grants President Rodrigo Duterte special powers to address the coronavirus crisis is on June 25.
“Tuloy po ang second tranche ng ayuda kahit kailan pa mag expire ang Bayanhinan Act,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Monday.
“Hindi apektado ng expiration dahil yung obligasyon at pera naririyan na po. Hindi po yan subject to expiration” added Roque.
Under the Bayanihan law, each low-income family will receive an emergency subsidy of P5,000 to P8,000 per month for 2 months.
