Bawal pa rin ang beerhouse! Spas, museums allowed to reopen under MGCQ

By Prince Golez

Full body massage, tattoo and body piercing, live events, and entertainment industries are permitted in areas under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) starting August 1.

This, after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved on Tuesday business activities under Category IV in MGCQ areas.

Also allowed to operate are libraries, archives, museums and cultural centers, tourist destinations, and language, driving, and dance/acting/voice schools.

“The Department of Trade and Industry, in coordination with the Department of Health, is crafting the mandatory health protocols for each business activity,” Palace Spokesman Harry Roque said Wednesday.

Roque maintained that cockfighting and the operation of cockpits, beerhouses, and similar establishments primarily serving alcoholic drinks, and kid amusement industries remain prohibited in any form of community quarantine.
