Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque supports the resumption of training of the Olympic-bound athletes.
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee have recommended to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to allow athletes who have qualified or those attempting to make the 2020 team to resume training for the Tokyo Olympics.
“I would personally support that because I want a gold in the Tokyo Olympics like everyone else,” Roque said in a virtual presser Thursday.
He, however, clarified that the IATF has yet to decide on the request.
“Wala pa pong aksiyon,” Roque also said.
The PSC board identified the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila and the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City as potential training venues.
