Harry Roque clarifies ‘sayawan ang Covid-19’ remark: ‘Hindi literal yan!’

By Prince Golez

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday defended his “sayawan ang Covid-19” statement, saying there is a “hammer-and-dance” theory to fight the coronavirus disease.

Roque had earlier allayed public fears over the continued spread of the virus, encouraging Filipinos to just “dance” with the pandemic as the local economy gradually opens up.

To effectively “dance” with the virus, Roque said that more of the responsibility would shift to the local government unit (LGU), the private company, and the individual citizen.
