‘Hindi death penalty, telco at dolphins!’ Jake Ejercito calls for government action plan vs coronavirus

The Duterte government is under fire for allegedly failing to present a concrete action plan to overcome the coronavirus crisis.

Politiko scion Jake Ejercito took to Twitter to slam the government’s alleged poor handling of the health emergency that has so far infected more than 80,000 people in the country. Ejercito is the son of former President and Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

In his latest social media post, Ejercito asked the government to show its planned solution to the coronavirus problem instead of focusing on efforts to revive the death penalty, run after bad telecommunication firms, and play with the dolphins.

According to Ejercito, the government downplayed the coronavirus outbreak at the start and failed to provide adequate healthcare resources to deal with the pandemic.

“Downplayed it at the start
Didn’t close borders early enough
Lack of PPEs
Lack of proper measures for the prolonged lockdown
Still not enough testing
83k total cases
Nearly 2k deaths” Ejercito tweeted.

“Ano ba naman pa ang gusto namin?? Plano at solusyon! Hindi death penalty, telco, at dolphins!” he said.

In his recent State of the Nation Address, President Duterte called for the passage of a law imposing the death penalty for drug-related crimes in the country. Duterte also threatened to close Globe and Smart if they are unable to improve their services before the end of the year.

The President’s spokesman Harry Roque also drew flak for taking a dip with the dolphins at a marine park in Sabic in the middle of the community quarantine early July.
