Duterte admits hard for all admin bets to win Senate race: It’s a tall order

By Prince Golez

The senatorial candidates of the ruling PDP-Laban have a “good chance” of winning the election, President Rodrigo Duterte thinks so.

“I attended the filing of certificates of candidacy this afternoon before I flew in to give them the necessary moral support,” Duterte said in an interview with SMNI Friday.

On October 8, Duterte showed up at the Sofitel tent of the Commission on Elections to support the administration’s Senate bets.

He raised the arms of former Public Works secretary Mark Villar, Agrarian Reform secretary John Castriciones, Informations and Communications technology secretary Gregorio Honasan, Chief Presidential Legal Council Salvador Panelo, Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission chairperson Greco Belgica, Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, actor Robin Padilla, and broadcaster Rey Langit.

“I think that if we work hard, we have a good chance of making it,” according to Duterte.

“I hope it would be all so because we’re asking for a complete change of the present crop of senators. It’s a tall order, actually, but we will try our best, it’s hard work,” he added.
