Palace Spokesman Harry Roque gave President Rodrigo Duterte’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) a rating of 9 out of 10.
“Bago na yung format ng SONA natin, meron na tayong pre-SONA na tinatawag kung saan ang mga detalye eh sinabi na ng mga kalihim ng iba’t-ibang departamento. Ang kay Presidente is yung direksyon at broad strokes kaya wala na tayong litanya ng mga figures na naririnig natin sa mga nakaraang SONA. So, sa akin po 9 out of 10 ang grado ng Presidente,” Roque said in a virtual presser Tuesday.
The Palace official, however, thought that the speech was too long and lacked “quotable quotes.”
Duterte’s penultimate SONA at the Batasang Pambansa yesterday ran for about an hour and 40 minutes.
“Yung sa pagsulat ng speech, number one, mahaba. Meron na pong pre-SONA. Panagalawa, siguro yung mga quotable quotes. Kung ako ang nagsulat diyan mas marami akong ilalagay na quotable quotes sa simula at ending ng speech,” he added.
