Level up on safety, Angara says as COVID cases soar above 50,000

Senator Sonny Angara has appealed to the public to increase vigilance against the spread of the coronavirus disease.

Angara said people should heed appeals to “level up on safety” after the country’s cases of coronavirus soared above 50,000.

“Re-posting this warning from experts as COVID-19 cases rise past the 50,000 mark, with 2,539 new cases in a day as of 8PM July 8, 2020. Let’s heed calls to level up on safety. #AlagangAngara #WeHealAsOne,” he wrote on Facebook.

In an earlier post, Angara called on concerned government officials, media and influencers to step up the information campaign to combat the pandemic. The senator, a survivor of COVID-19, has donated his plasma to help treat other patients with the illness.

“Increased new cases per day, nag-level up at naging mas nakakahawa pa ngayon ang #virus, kaya DAPAT MAS PAIGTINGIN NATIN ANG PAG-IINGAT,” he said.

“To the media, influencers, local government, barangays, appealing to all na makiisa at paigtingin ang information campaign at enforcement ng quarantine protocols sa ating mga komunidad,” he said.
