‘Walang home quarantine’: Nograles pitches mandatory facility quarantine for Covid-19 patients

By Prince Golez

The government now discourages home-based quarantine for coronavirus (Covid-19) patients, according to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.

Nograles, also co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, said that people with Covid-19 infection must undergo quarantine in government isolation facilities to prevent further transmission of the virus.

“We are now discouraging home quarantine.

As of July 11, the Department of Health reported the total number of Covid-19 cases at 54,222. Total recoveries are now at 14,037 while the death toll stands at 1,372.
