Workers laid off by ABS-CBN, who lost its bid to regain its franchise last July, may apply for a job in the government.
In a virtual presser Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said his office is in need of writers and other media personnel.
“Just for the information of those who need jobs lalung-lalo na doon sa mga taga-ABS-CBN na nagsarado, we are hiring writers, cameramen and other production crew po dito sa Office of the Presidential spokesperson,” according to Roque.
When asked about the number of government employees who were displaced or will be displaced due to the coronavirus disease, the secretary said: “Wala pa naman po dahil wala pa naman pong ahensiya ng gobyerno na nagli-layoff.
“It’s mostly private po kaya po ang ginagawa natin maski dito po sa ating opisina tinitingnan po natin kung ano iyong mga posisyon na pupuwedeng maibigay natin sa mga nawalan ng trabaho.”
