
The House of Representatives announced on Monday the death of Senior Citizens party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. He was 71 years old.
“It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Cong. Jun Datol passed away a few hours ago,” House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said in a statement.
He did not give other details.
“We will give you the details as soon as we receive them,” he said.
“May he rest in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones,” Montales added.
Datol chaired the House committee on senior citizens. He strongly supported bills pushing for the welfare of senior citizens in the House.
