ECQ? MECQ? GCQ: Imee Marcos: Hilong hilo na tao sa mahabang lockdown!

Senator Imee Marcos is urging the government to come up with a plan to arrest the rise in COVID-19 cases as the economy reopens, saying the prolonged lockdown is hurting businesses and workers.

In an interview over dzRH radio Sunday (August 9), Marcos said the economy would suffer if widespread lockdowns continue.

“Pinakamahaba na tayo at pinakamaaga pa, hilo na tao, nalilito na,” she said of the lockdown.

Metro Manila and the provinces of Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Bulacan are under modified enhanced community quarantine until August 18.

Marcos said that while public health is priority, the government should strike a balance to ensure businesses will continue to run despite the COVID-19 threat.

“Sabi nga ‘di mamamatay ng veerus pero mamamatay sa gutom,” she said.
