By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte has three marching order to new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief. Lt. Gen. Camilo Cascolan.

In an interview with CNN Philippines Wednesday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Cascolan must uphold the rule of law, curb police corruption, and sustain the war on drugs.

“To the PNP chief, of course number one is to maintain, uphold the integrity of the rule of law as far as the PNP is concerned,” according to Roque.

“Number two, rid its rank of corruption because that’s the reason why the President doubled the salary of the Armed Forces and [the police], and number three, what is closest to his heart, sustain the gains of the drug war,” he added.

On Tuesday, Malacañang announced that Duterte has chosen Cascolan, who served as deputy for administration, to lead the police force.
