Mini Philippines is capping off 2020 with the introduction of the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition—a more extroverted version of its open-top Cooper S.
“The Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition takes the fun of sun-drenched, wind-in-the-hair motoring to the next level,” said Willy Q. Tee Ten, President of Mini Philippines. “Sassy and spontaneous, it celebrates a rich heritage of unfiltered excitement and is the epitome of hood down, summer driving enjoyment – with more power, space and handling.”
The Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition continues where the standard Cooper S ends. It gets specially-designed exterior paintwork, soft-top design, rims, and interior fittings.
The Deep Laguna metallic paint finish makes its debut with the Sidewalk Edition. While that’s the image color, the Sidewalk Edition is available in five other colors: Midnight Black metallic, White Silver metallic, Enigmatic Black metallic, Moonwalk Grey metallic, and Thunder Grey metallic. From there, it gets unique hoot stripes with contrasting color edges. Meanwhile, the textile top features an artistically-woven graphic. On each corner are two-tone 17-inch “scissor spoke” alloy wheels, and at the front fenders, the side indicators bear the “Sidewalk” model designation.
Inside, the Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition has brushed aluminum door sills also bearing the “Sidewalk” lettering as well as anthracite-colored leather seats with contrasting seams in Petrol and Energetic Yellow. It also gets braided logos finished in Petrol. Apart from the seats, it also has a backlit high-gloss black decorative trim combined with accents in both silver and Petrol.
Convenience features include an LED exterior lighting package, ambient interior lighting, automatic climate control, and a height-adjustable front passenger seat.
Under the hood, is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 192 horsepower and 280 Nm. This is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, while top speed is pegged at 230 km/h.
The 2020 Mini Convertible Sidewalk Edition retails for P 3.4 million.
