Newly-minted Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) Corp. chief Dante Gierran assures President Rodrigo Duterte that his successor at the National Bureau of Investigation is clean.
“He is doing right, sir,” said Gierran on National Bureau of Investigation Director Eric Distor. Gierran, who hails from Davao City, retired as NBI chief in February.
“Okay ha? Hindi corrupt? Iyan lang. Go after corruption. Not you being the corrupt, the culprit,” said Duterte in a briefing.
“Tulungan ninyo ako kasi kawawa ang — kawawa ang bayan. Naawa ako talaga sa bayan ko. Believe me, my heart bleeds for my country. Iyong unabated corruption and with no end in sight and another election coming up and you see the same old faces there. So the same old bata-bata kung sino iyong mga tao nila, wala. Patay,” he added.
