President Rodrigo Duterte administered the oath of office to new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Camilo Pancratius Cascolan Monday.
Cascolan was joined by his family during his oath-taking ceremony at the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang.
In his first flag-raising ceremony as PNP chief yesterday, Cascolan promised to take a more proactive approach to fighting the coronavirus disease, illegal drugs, and terrorism.
“I want my police officers to be responsible, respected, and disciplined. I expect no less. Our loved ones and the public we serve demand and deserve that,” the top cop also said.
Malacañang earlier said Duterte directed Cascolan, who is set to retire from the police force two months from now, to uphold the rule of law, curb police corruption, and sustain the war on drugs.
