Palace to LSIs camping outside Libingan: Bumalik muna kayo sa inyong mga tinitirhan

By Prince Golez

MalacaƱang has asked locally stranded individuals (LSIs) to avoid crowding ahead of their repatriation schedule.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque issued the statement following reports that several LSIs who are waiting for their trips back to their provinces began to set up tents outside the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

“Nakikiusap ako doon sa mga nagtitipun-tipon diyan sa Libingan ng mga Bayani, under GCQ (general community quarantine) po hanggang sampung tao lang po ang pupuwedeng magtipun-tipon,” Roque said in a televised briefing Thursday.

The Palace official also urged people taking refuge at the Libingan to go home and wait for further updates regarding the “Hatid Tulong” program.

Last July, the government drew flak after photos showing thousands LSIs crammed inside the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex went viral of social media.
