Peugeot Updates 5008 7-Seater SUV for 2021

A few days after the unveil of the refreshed 3008 SUV, Peugeot has now done the same to its 7-seater 5008 SUV.

The 5008 features a new front-end with a new hood, frameless grille with black side scoops, and a painted tread plate integrated into the front bumper. LED lighting will be standard across the range with a new “Fog Mode” function replacing the conventional fog lights.

Also, like the 3008, the Peugeot 5008 comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument display replacing the traditional gauges, and a 10-inch high-def color touchscreen for the infotainment. The infotainment system also features toggle switches providing shortcuts to main control functions.

Like before, the 5008 features three rows of seats with cargo space ranging from 780 to 1,940 liters. The middle row features three individual and fully adjustable seats, which feature reclining backrests and can be fully folded. The two seats in the third row can be fully folded and removed, while the front passenger seat can be tipped forward so objects as long as 3.2 meters can be loaded into the new 5008 SUV.

The new 5008 SUV comes with class-leading levels of driver assistance and safety technology including a segment-first Night Vision.

In terms of engine choices, the 5008 sticks with traditional gasoline and diesel engines (no PHEV for now). The gas engines feature either a 3- or 4-cylinder layout with displacements of 1.2 or 1.6 liters. For the diesels, it comes in either 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter flavors. Available transmissions, depending on trim, are a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic.

Sales in Europe start this year. However, with Peugeot Philippines sourcing its units from Malaysia, it’s probably going to take longer for this refreshed 5008 to arrive locally.
