This was how Sen. Panfilo Lacson described the denials of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III over the findings and recommendations of the Senate Committee of the Whole that probed corruption at the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
In a radio interview, Lacson said it is natural for Duque to contest the charges against him, including the recommendations to replace him.
“Natural lamang yan dahil sinasangkot siya at may recommendation na tanggalin siya at kasuhan siya. Alangan ba namang sumang-ayon siya. Siyempre gagawa siya ng depensa,” he said in an interview on DZAR.
The Senate Committee of the Whole report had recommended criminal charges against Duque, as well as his replacement by one who has a “stronger will” to fight corruption.
