Puro papogi! Vince Dizon’s ineptitude shows as senators hit slow pace of ‘Build Build Build’

The government’s ambitious infrastructure program still appears to be moving at a snail’s pace, with less than two years left into President Rodrigo Duterte’s term.

Senators pointed out the slow pace of the “Build, Build, Build” program Thursday (September 17) during the National Economic Development Authority’s budget briefing before the Senate finance committee.

“My question is basically on the ‘Build, Build, Build’ program. Kasi parang lumalabas start, start, start pa lang tayo. Eh two years na lang naiiwan kay Presidente di ba?” said Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri.

“Ang tawag diyan hindi na ‘Build, Build, Build.’ Start, start, start na lang,” he added.

Senator Sonny Angara chimed in: “Ground break, ground, ground na lang tayo.”

Presidential Adviser for Flagship Projects Vince Dizon is in charge of the “Build, Build, Build” program.

NEDA Acting Secretary Karl Chua said 104 small and big infrastructure projects have been started since 2016, while some will begin in 2021.

Of the projects that have broken ground, 44 are ongoing while 22 are in the process of securing approval. Two have already been completed, Chua added.
