The present proposal for a revolutionary government is “strange” and “incomprehensible,” Malacañang said Wednesday.
“In fairness. I don’t know what they want. They claim to be supporters of the President so why would they want to unseat a constitutional president, so I find it strange. The whole exercise to me is incomprehensible,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque told CNN Philippines.
Roque reiterated that Duterte does not support a revolutionary government because he wants to end his term by 2022.
“The President was elected to a fixed term of office. He will finish that fixed term of office and although people can talk about it because they may have criticisms against the system,” according to him.
“I join the President in our belief that the Constitution should be upheld because all public officers took an oath to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the land,” he also said.
Last August 22, a group that calls itself “Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte National Executive Committee gathered in Clark, Pampanga to call on Duterte to lead a revolutionary government that aims to fast-track the establishment of federalism in the country.
