The spokesperson of President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday shared how he was saved by a lifeguard while swimming in the famous Boracay waters.
“Napakakalma ng alon, langoy lang ako nang langoy, hindi ko nararamdaman iyong current, napakalayo ko na,” Harry Roque said, adding that he swam for one and a half hours.
“Sinave ako ng lifeguard. Maraming salamat sa lifeguard,” Roque told TeleRadyo.
The secretary visited Boracay last Saturday, which reopened to local tourists from general community quarantine areas on October 1.
He likewise held a media briefing from the island in the Western Visayas region yesterday.
