Palace advices PH paddlers to send appeal to IATF

By Prince Golez

MalacaƱang on Monday asked the Philippine Dragon Boat Alliance to write to the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to allow the resumption of their training sessions.

The dragon boat team requested the government to allow them to go back to training amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.

“I am one of the supporters of the Philippine Dragon Boat Team. So, ang advice ko sa kanila, sumulat sila formally sa IATF at aaktuhan naman ito. Ire-refer ito sa TWG (technical working group) at magkakaroon naman po sila ng desisyon,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing.

Last month, the Philippine Basketball Association secured a provisional approval from the IATF to hold a bubble set-up in Clark, Pampanga.

Under a bubble concept, the players, coaches, and other staff are holed up in one area for the next two months. Their families will not be allowed to enter the bubble.
