Years before he became Manila Mayor, Isko Moreno may have committed foolish moves when he was young but did not break any laws.
Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla came to the rescue of Mayor Isko after President Duterte shamed the mayor for his “call boy” image over his past sexy photos.
Duterte also warned the public against voting for the actor-turned-politician as the country’s next president. The President did not name Mayor Isko but was obviously alluding to the Metro Manila mayor in last public address. Isko is the only former actor among the local chief executives in the metro.
“Yorme did not break any laws by joining showbiz in his youth nor by posing sexy in photos,” he said.
“Kung ako ang tatanungin ninyo? Hindi ito isyu. What’s important is that Yorme NEVER LIED, DID NOT STEAL, KILL nor did he ever brought shame to the great people of Manila as a Public Servant,” Remulla said
Remulla also a public servant should be judge based on competence and quality of service, not be shammed for his past.
“Hindi tama na tapaktapakan ang nakaraan, paninindigan at reputasyon ng isang taong wala namang kalaban-laban,” he said.
“Ang paghuhusga ay ilaan na lamang po natin sa mga taong lumabag sa batas o siyang mga nagtraydor sa bayan,” he added.
He said Yorme should not be judged on such juvenile merits. He said the Manila mayor’s record of government speak for itself.
