MalacaƱang is looking forward to the immediate passage of the P4.506-trillion 2021 General Appropriations Bill after the House of Representatives approved the measure on third and final reading.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque thanked the Lower House for their timely passage of the 2021 budget and hoped they would transmit the printed copy to the Senate “as soon as possible.”
“We thank the House of Representatives for passing on third and final reading the 2021 General Appropriations Bill on time or within the special session called by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” Roque said Saturday.
The secretary said Duterte has repeatedly articulated the importance of the timely passage of the budget because the government needs resources to fund its interventions to mitigate the adverse effects of the coronavirus disease pandemic.
“In addition, we hope the House of Representatives would transmit its printed or soft copy to the Senate as soon as possible, so that the Upper Chamber would be given ample time to act on this legislative measure, which has been certified urgent by the President,” he added.
