Validity of student permits, driver’s licenses extended until Dec. 31

Malacañang said the Land Transportation Office has extended the validity of student permits and driver’s/conductor’s licenses of Authorized Persons Outside Residence that expired during the lockdowns until December 31.

No penalty will be collected in the application for renewal if the driver’s license and conductor’s license expired during the restriction period, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

“Dahil sa inaasahang pagdagsa ng mga aplikante, ang validity ng student permit, driver’s license at conductor’s license na nag-expire nung panahong merong restriction ay na-extend po hanggang December 31, 2020,” he said during his virtual presser.

Meanwhile, Roque said that registration of vehicles with plate numbers ending in 6, 7, and 8 is extended until October 31.

Registration for plate numbers ending in 9 and 0, on one hand, is extended until December 31, he furthered.

“Ang mga rules na ito ay para lang sa mga edad 17 hanggang 21 at mga 60 hanggang 65 anyos kung saan nag-expire ang kanilang mga lisensya nung panahon sila ay dapat nasa bahay lamang,” the secretary concluded.
