President Rodrigo Duterte assured China that the Philippines remains as one of its strong partners in the Southeast Asian region.
In his message at the 17th China-Asean Expo and China-Asean Business and Investment Summit held last November 27, Duterte thanked Beijing for its “substantial investments” in Asean countries during this coronavirus pandemic-triggered recession.
Chinese investments in trade, infrastructure, telecommunication and transportation, he added, have strengthened economic integration, productivity and financial stability in the region.
“Let us ensure a harmonious collaboration among our countries and achieve the goal of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership under the blueprint of the China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership Vision 2030,” according to Duterte.
“Be assured that the Philippines remains a strong partner in promoting the mutual prosperity of the China-ASEAN economic community for the years ahead,” he added.
