Help is on the way: Duterte forms task force to relief ops

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the creation of a task force that would speed up distribution of aid to victims of typhoon Ulysses.

Kaya sa madalian, gumawa ako ng hakbang – creation of a task force. Ito naman, I directed them to streamline para madali ang rehabilitation efforts affected by the typhoon,” Duterte said in a televised address Saturday.

The task force, he added, would be composed of representatives across government agencies.

Duterte said the government has deployed the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Navy to help victims of heavy flooding in Cagayan Valley.

“Ang gobyerno papasok sa madaling panahon gamit lahat ‘yung mga assets, ‘yung mga ari-arian ng gobyerno at gagamitin doon, and I will see to it na talagang dadating ‘yan.

“Yung tulong will be coming, that may panahon sila ibigay para mapadali ‘yung tulong. Iyon lang naman,” he also said.
