Palace defends Duterte absence from ‘Ulysses’ briefing: Asean Summit ngayon!

By Prince Golez

Malacañang on Friday defended President Rodrigo Duterte’s absence in the press briefing on typhoon “Ulysses,” saying that all concerned agencies are doing their jobs.

Duterte wasn’t able to attend the briefing at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) headquarters due to his participation in the virtual 37th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

On Thursday, Duterte briefly left the summit to conduct an aerial inspection of areas devastated by typhoon “Ulysses.” He was accompanied by his former longtime aide during the survey.
