President Rodrigo Duterte will “most likely” place Bicol, Mimaropa, and Calabarzon under a state of calamity due to the onslaught of typhoon Rolly, Malacañang said.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque issued the statement after the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommended that the three regions be placed under a state of calamity, citing the damage sustained from the typhoon.
“Most likely po. Pero antayin na natin yung papel mismo na manggagaling sa tanggapan ng Presidente,” Roque said during a virtual presser Monday.
The cost of damage brought by Rolly has reached P11 billion, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
The typhoon also left at least 23 people left scores of others wounded.
