Senate President Tito Sotto on Monday rejected calls to have mail-in voting in the Philippines during the 2022 general elections similar to the system used in the latest United States presidential elections.
I’m not in favor. It’s the easiest system of voting to cheat,” he said in a Viber message to reporters.
“Sino tatanggap? Nationwide? Saan padadala, Post Office? Kailan bibilangin? Sino bibilang?” he asked.
Sotto also raised concern about the voting results being leaked ahead of time, “whether true or fake.”
“Paano kung may mag leak ng results whether true or fake?” he said.
“Any of those procedures can be cheated!” Sotto said.
