Take a bow, Castelo couple.
As typhoon Ulysses brought heavy rains in Metro Manila, this politiko couple rushed to help rescue neighbors trapped in flood-hit village.
Quezon City second district councilor Winnie Castelo and wife Rep. Precious Hipolito Castelo rode a jet ski to pull a rescue boat while traversing the flooded village.
Photos of the typhoon rescue operations were shared by Castelo on Instagram.
“Dramatic moments when humanity unites to save a village. Thankful for the successful extraction of neighbors trapped in houses at the height of Typhoon Ulysses with the help of government and homeowners,” Councilor Castelo said.
He also thanked a certain Lenard Catais for lending his jet ski for the rescue operations.
“Thank you Barangay Batasan Hills, DPOS, MMDA, DPWH, Coast Guard, BFD, Vista Real Classica and Sitio Payong homeowners,” he said.
Rep. Precious also thanked neighbors, village officials and volunteers for teaming up for the rescue efforts.
“BAYANIHAN Salamat po sa ating mga kapit bahay, kabarangay at mga volunteers sa pag tulong na mailikas natin ni Cong @winnie_castelo ang mga kapit bahay na binaha dulot ng hagupit ng bagyong Ulysses at pag angat ng water level sa Angat Dam,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you Lord Praying for everyone’s safety,” she said.
