Wala talaga! Parlade denies red-tagging actresses

Controversial Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. on Tuesday denied red-tagging three actresses who he had “warned” against joining groups he claimed are connected with the New People’s Army.

Senate defense committee chairman Panfilo Lacson asked Parlade at the start of Tuesday’s Senate hearing on red-tagging whether he “red-tagged” Angel Locsin, Catriona Gray and Liza Soberano.

“I would just like to ask this very important question which is the meat of the hearing today, to Gen. Parlade. Have you in any way red-tagged Liza Soberano, Angel Locsin and Catriona Gray?” Lacson asked Parlade shortly after giving his opening statement.

“No Your Honor, I did not,” Parlade replied.

Last month, Lacson advised Parlade to practice “a little prudence and self-discipline.” He said that while Parlade seems dedicated to his mission of ending the 50-year-old communist insurgency, he may be over-analyzing and over-talking.

Parlade’s reported recent remarks included his claim that some personalities are under surveillance by the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), where Parlade is a spokesman.
