Senator Sherwin Gatchalian is impressed with fellow Senator Sonny Angara due to his competence and humility.
According to Gatchalian, Angara earned his masters of law at Harvard University and yet has never boasted about his Ivy League education.
Angara has remained humble despite his remarkable educational achievement, the senator wrote on Instagram.
“I’ve met very few people who really graduated from Harvard University (not certificate course) and our Chairman of the Finance Committee, Sen. Sonny Angara, is one them,” he said.
“And he doesn’t even brag about it. He’s the same humble person since the time we met decades ago,” he added.
Gatchalian shared a photo having a conversation with Angara at the Senate.
In 2019, Angara admitted that he never thought he was “Harvard Law material.” He said his father, the late Senator Edgardo Angara, as well as his professors were actually the ones who believed he could make it.
Angara also shared a throwback photo of his Harvard Law university identification card on Instagram while trying to encourage others to dream big.
Before his Harvard education in Cambridge, Angara earned his law degree at the University of the Philippines College of Law. He also graduated with an economics degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in London.
“Lesson as the poet Browning said is ‘a man’s reach should exceed his grasp;’ always aim higher than u think u can reach,” the senator said.
