By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Leoncio “Jun” Badilla Evasco Jr. as Presidential Adviser on Streamlining of Government Process.

Evasco will get the rank of Secretary, Malacañang said in a statement Wednesday.

“The Palace confirms that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has signed the appointment of Mr. Leoncio Badilla Evasco Jr. as Presidential Adviser on Streamlining of Government Processes, with the rank of Secretary, on November 24, 2020,” according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Roque said the appointment of Evasco, who served as Cabinet Secretary from June 2016 to October 2018, would “contribute greatly in his new task of streamlining government processes in the Executive.”

Meanwhile, Duterte also named Ramon Pereyra Jacinto, a known musician and businessman, as Presidential Adviser for Telecommunications.

Jacinto was the former Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs and Information Technology and Undersecretary of the Department of information and Communications Technology.

“We are therefore confident that PA Jacinto would ably and effectively discharge his duties in this new assignment,” the spokesperson added.
