Staying home during the holidays amid a pandemic may actually feel good, though sending gifts to orphans and the aged would feel better.

Thus said Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Monday, as he noted there is no problem with having no parties, trips or shopping during these trying times.

“No parties, no trips, no shopping. If there’s anything to think positive about this pandemic, staying home for the holiday season actually feels good. Sending gifts to the homeless orphans and the neglected aged even feels better,” Lacson said in a post on his Twitter account.

Authorities have discouraged people from going out in public for non-essential activities during the holidays, as they work on getting COVID vaccines next year.

Earlier, Lacson said his Christmas wish is the early procurement of vaccines, amid renewed efforts by government to get them from the United States.

“My Christmas wish is simple. I hope we Filipinos survive this pandemic, and we get the needed vaccines soonest,” Lacson said on DWIZ radio last Saturday, but added there should be no room for incompetence particlarly by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
