MalacaƱang is studying the possible resumption of face-to-face classes for medical schools in the country.
National Task Force against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. had expressed support for medical schools to resume in-person instruction.
“Ang alam ko may mga proposals na magkaroon ng face-to-face lalo na sa mga medical schools dahil kinakailangan natin ng mga doktor sa panahon ng pandemya, iyan po ay pag-aaralan,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a recent virtual presser.
“Pero kinakailangan si Presidente po ang mag-approve,” added Roque.
The government’s coronavirus task force has yet to approve the proposal of the education sector to allow limited face-to-face learning at the tertiary level.
