Skyway Stage 3 Open to Motorists Starting December 29, 2020

San Miguel Corporation promised, and they delivered. Despite delays due to rains and a collapsing girder, the Skyway Stage 3 will be partially open to the public starting Friday, December 29, 2020.

The 18-kilometer stretch of the much-awaited Skyway Stage 3 project will cut travel time from SLEX to NLEX to just 20 minutes, compared to the current three hours. Magallanes to Balintawak will only take about 15 minutes, Balintawak to NAIA also only 15 minutes, and Valenzuela to Makati in just 10 minutes.

It will be fully completed by January 14, 2020.

And as previously promised by San Miguel Corporation’s president and COO Ramon S. Ang, the new portion of Skyway is free to all motorists for one (1) month.

“I am pleased to announce the partial opening tomorrow, December 29, of our 18-km Skyway Stage 3, for free to motorists for one month. By January 14, we can all enjoy the full benefits of this engineering marvel. Despite the continuous rains that delayed its completion, the entire team worked so hard to deliver this game-changing project,” said Ang in a statement.

Ang has vowed to push through with all its major infrastructure projects despite the economic slowdown due to the pandemic, in order to generate jobs and help the economy recover.
