Malacañang expects a speedy investigation into the killing of Dr. Mary Rose Sancelan, Guihulngan’s city health officer and head of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, and her husband Edwin.
On Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Philippine National Police (PNP) is currently investigating the murder of the Sancelan couple.
“Yan po’y iniimbestigahan ng ating PNP,” Roque said during his televised briefing.
“Inaasahan natin na magiging mabilis ang imbetsiasyon nang mahuli na po, malitis at maparusahan ang pumatay kay doktora,” he added.
A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office said the Sancelans were on their way home on a motorcycle when still unidentified persons shot them and fled.
