Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Saturday (Jan. 23) he expects the number of complaints the Task Force Against Corruption (TFAC) to rise as the 2022 nationals and local elections draw near.
“We expect the number to rise as we draw closer to the next elections,” he said.
“There may be a rash of politically motivated complaints alleging corruption by contending elective officials as elections draw near,” he explained.
Despite this, Guevarra assured that the DOJ-led TFAC will screen all of the complaints it will receive.
“We will have to evaluate each complaint on the basis of adequate evidence submitted to support general allegations,” the secretary said.
