NCR to remain under GCQ in February

MalacaƱang announced the extension of the general community quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila for the entire month of February.

On Friday’s Laging Handa briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said there will be no changes in the quarantine restrictions in the National Capital Region until February 28.

Also placed under GCQ are Batangas and Cordillera Administrative Region which includes Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Baguio City, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province for Luzon; Tacloban City for the Visayas; Davao del Norte, Lanao del Sur and Iligan City for Mindanao.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will be placed under a modified GCQ.

As of January 28, the Philippines recorded a total of 519,575 cases of Covid-19, with 475,596 recoveries and 10,552 casualties.
