No mass gatherings in GCQ, Palace reminds public

By Prince Golez

MalacaƱang on Thursday reminded the public that under general community quarantine (GCQ) any large gathering of people is prohibited.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the statement after events producer and TV host Tim Yap’s birthday party in Baguio City drew public ire for alleged violations of coronavirus protocols.

“Wala pong mass gatherings sa GCQ. Hanggang sampo lang po ang pupuwedeng magtipon sa GCQ. Sa mga restaurants hanngang 70 percent po ang capacity pero restaurants po yan. Wala pong public gatherings sa GCQ,” Roque said in a televised briefing.

On one hand, the Palace official reiterated that mass gatherings are allowed up to 50 percent capacity in modified GCQ areas.

“No mass gatherings in GCQ pero meron pong maximum capacity pagdating sa MGCQ,” he added.
