Duterte defers new vehicle inspection policy: Hindi na mandatory!

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte has suspended the implementation of the New Motor Vehicle Inspection System (MVIS), according to Malacañang.

On Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte decided to defer the implementation of the policy, citing the crises besetting this nation.

“Hindi na po mandatory ang MVIS,” Roque said during a televised briefing.

“Ibig sabihin kinakailangan wala pong bagong singil, walang karagdagang singil para sa pag-rehistro ng mga sasakyan,” he also said.

The Land Transportation Office earlier required the MVIS prior to vehicle registration.
