The World Health Organization (WHO) has commended the Philippine plan for coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine drive, Malacañang said Tuesday.
Quoting WHO Country Representative Rabindra Abeyasinghe’s remarks, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the country has a “very good comprehensive plan” despite concerns on the actual rollout of Covid-19 vaccines.
“WHO po yan hindi propaganda. Sino ngayon ang pakikinggan niyo: ang mga kritiko sa politika o ang WHO?” Roque asked during his televised address.
The secretary previously called out Vice President Leni Robredo for saying that the government has been prioritizing its “propaganda” instead of improving the pandemic response.
Also, Roque said the WHO praised the country’s low Covid-19 mortality rate, adding that the administration has done a good job dealing with the crisis.
“All these showed you have prepared and used the lockdown wisely to deal with the pandemic and the reflection is that you have managed to prevent a large number of deaths like we have seen in several other countries,” he said, still quoting Abeyasinghe.
