Reopening of cinemas postponed to March 1

By Prince Golez

The reopening of cinemas in Metro Manila has been moved to March 1 due to coronavirus fears, MalacaƱang announced Monday.

This, after all Metro Manila mayors opposed the latest resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) allowing cinemas, museums, game arcades, and other leisure establishments to reopen in areas under General Community Quarantine.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that consultations will continue and guidelines will be finalized by local governments for cinema reopening.

Under IATF Resolution No. 99, mass gatherings for religious purposes are allowed up to 50 percent seating capacity in GCQ areas.
