SC moves oral arguments on Anti-Terror Law to March 2 as justices go on self-quarantine

The Supreme Court (SC) announced on Monday (Feb. 22) that it is postponing the oral arguments on the Anti-Terrorism Law scheduled this Tuesday (Feb. 23) due to COVID-19 infections.

“Considering that some of the Justices are on self quarantine as a health precaution against COVID-19, you are hereby informed, per instruction of the Honorable Court, of the suspension of the Oral Arguments scheduled on February 23, 2021,” read the notice issued by SC Clerk of Court Edgar Aricheta.

“The Oral Arguments will resume on March 02, 2021 at 2:30 p.m.,” he added.

At the moment, no other details have been given by the SC.

The SC is currently conducting the oral arguments on the 37 petitions that were filed seeking to declare the Anti-Terrorism Law as unconstitutional.

The high tribunal has been conducting the oral arguments every Tuesday this month since Feb. 2.
